The Pescadero Education Foundation supports over 250 students from elementary through high school by funding programs that bring learning to life.
The Pescadero Education Foundation (PEF) is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to supporting students across Pescadero schools.
We fund enrichment programs that help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally through hands-on learning, arts, outdoor education, and community experiences.
Journalism Project with KPDO Radio
Real-World Communication for English Language Learners
Students at Pescadero Middle & High School are stepping into the role of journalists, developing real-world communication and storytelling skills through a partnership with Pescadero's own local radio station, KPDO. This program gives English language learners a powerful, authentic platform to find and share their voices.
School Garden & Pumpkin Science
Hands-On Ecology from Seed to Harvest
Our school garden serves as a living classroom where students plant, tend, and harvest their own crops. By getting their hands in the soil, they learn firsthand about ecology, food systems, and environmental stewardship. This year, that learning came to life through "Pumpkin Science," as elementary students used pumpkins grown in our garden and donated by Fifth Crow Farm to explore the scientific method.
Arts Enrichment — Into the Woods
Expanding Horizons Through the Arts
This year, middle schoolers attended a live performance of Into the Woods at the San Francisco Playhouse, an experience that sparked meaningful conversations about storytelling, imagination, and the power of the arts. PEF continues to fund music, theater, and visual arts programs that nurture every student's creative voice.
Pescadero Bike Initiative
Healthy, Sustainable, Community-Connected
PEF recently joined efforts to strengthen the Pescadero Bike Initiative, a community-driven program that promotes safe riding, outdoor activity, and independence for young people. As we look ahead, we're excited to expand our support for programs like this one. Connecting youth to healthy, sustainable ways of exploring their community.
Place-Based Learning
Rooted in the Land, the Coast, and the Community
Our students are lucky to learn in one of California's most beautiful and unique places. PEF-funded field trips and outdoor experiences take students to the redwoods, the coastline, local farms, and ranches to help them build a deep connection to the place they call home.
After-School Sports, Arts & Enrichment
Nurturing the Whole Child
Beyond the classroom, PEF supports a wide range of after-school programs including sports teams, arts activities, and enrichment opportunities that foster teamwork, creativity, and a sense of belonging. Every student deserves to find where they shine.
